PROJECT CIRCA 2008 // FREELANCE THROUGH ACADEMEE / PMI

What a project! I landed this through a good friend and former colleague Lee Higgs, who won the business by showcasing some of my work for me at an Expo he visited.

Maersk had approached PMI to provide some management training, and I had experience of CBT after my first contract with Lockheed Martin; I had further bolstered my skills in flash through several years working for a top recruitment advertising agency.

In essence I created a series of islands each representing a business concept. The lesson content was written by PMI, the sound was recorded by Academee, and the project management was also through Academee, everything else was down to me.

I wire-framed the interface, designed and built the front-end. I coded an XML driven ‘dumb’ CBT engine that was SCORM compliant, I designed the look and feel of the project, created a 3D navigation tool in 3DStudioMax, created 3D backgrounds I then digitally matte painted and crafted the lesson slides.

Whilst it is a bit dated now, it remains one of my favourite projects and work that I am very proud of.
